“THE HATEFUL EIGHT” 70MM DIRECTOR’S CUT AT CINECITTA’S TEATRO 5
The Hateful Eight, Quentin Tarantino’s much-awaited new movie, will be shown in the legendary Studios of Via Tuscolana, starting January 29, 2016.
Cinecittà Studios will be the only place in central and southern Italy offering the public the chance to become immersed in the 188-minute film, shot in Ultra Panavision 70mm format chosen by the Maestro for his latest work.
The movie’s extended version will be screened in the legendary Teatro 5 which – for the occasion – will be transformed by production designer Tonino Zera into a movie theatre for an audience of 888, with a curved, tiered structure to guarantee optimal visibility from every point, several flights of steps and a 21 x 8 meter mega screen designed to enhance the breadth, depth, definition and spectacular quality of the 70mm images.
At the entrance, a big structure representing the snowy landscape of the movie will welcome the viewers with clear references to the evocative film story.
Thanks to 01 Distribution, the Italian distribution company for the movie, screening of the 70mm version of the movie at Teatro 5 is scheduled till the 13 March, and will mark the opening of the Studios’ film review, “Cinecittà Winter Film Show,” an initiative launched by Cinecittà Studios and Cinecittà Shows Off to pay tribute to Quentin Tarantino and Sergio Leone, and that every year will offer premieres and retrospectives dedicated to big filmmakers.
Tarantino’s most celebrated hits will be joined (till the end of February) by a selection of westerns directed by Sergio Leone, a filmmaker who has always been a major reference point for the groundbreaking American filmmaker.
