New to Chiostro del Bramante, famous Dutch engraver and graphic artist Maurits Cornelis Escher’s hyper-evocative and entrancing exhibition is bound to amaze and challenge viewers’ visual perceptions.
Drawing inspiration from nature and landscapes throughout Italy, Escher’s collection of works represent a fusion of three concepts: a continuous passage of three dimensional and two dimensional objects, the psychology of shapes and their visual perception, and the societal impact of his geometric and mathematical approach to art.
The exhibit invites viewers to see through Escher’s eyes and experience over one hundred and fifty works including some of his most well-known pieces such as Hand with Reflecting Sphere, Another World II, and Relativity.
A truly unique experience, the exhibit pulls viewers into Escher’s world where graphic design, mathematical intuition, geometric patterns and the exploration of infinity combine to create extraordinary, visually stimulating and innovative works of art.
