A festival dedicated to Spanish dance and flamenco takes place at Auditorium Parco della Musica from 8-16 January
Starting from 2019, the Spanish and flamenco dance festival organized by the Fondazione Musica per Roma with the artistic direction of Roger Salas at the Auditorium Parco della Musica will take place every year.
One of the most anticipated shows will be the premiere of the new shared adventure of two extraordinary figures of the flamenco world: the bailaora and choreographer of Seville Belén Maya, and the Catalan singer Maite Martín; the guitarist Antonia Jiménez and his ensemble will offer a unique concert, while a series of historical and modern titles of the Spanish cinema will present an overview of the flamenco ballet and its evolution and will be an opportunity to see myths such as Antonio Ruiz Soler (El gran Antonio), Carmen Amaya and Antonio Gades. Two young dancers with a promising future, El Yiyo and El Tete, will give an essay on the power of the new male flamenco; the company of Jesús Carmona will arrive in Rome after the successes reported in America and Asia; Emilio Ochando will show with his group of dancers another face of the new tendencies of flamenco and traditional Spanish dance. The Festival concludes with Falla 3.0, the concert of the Camerata Flamenco Project.
