Rome would not be considered one of the most exciting tourist destinations in Italy, and in Europe, for nothing. Well, apart from the fact that there are a number of astounding scenic spots that can be found here, it is also famous for its wide choices of restaurants and bistros. There is at least one good place to eat at practically every corner of the city. Tourists find it convenient that within a few minutes from their Rome apartments, incomparable restaurants can be reached.
Rome’s international food scene offers you an escape from days and days of Italian food. A yummy alternative is the Chinese restaurant and traditional teahouse “Il Padiglione delle Cicogne”, voted number one on tripadvisor for Chinese restaurants in Rome. It’s strategically located between two metro stops (Valle Aurelia and Baldo Degli Ubaldi) which makes for a perfect pit stop in a relaxing atmosphere for lunch or dinner after a long day of touring the nearby St. Peter’s Square and the Vatican Museums. This is not your run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant. The restaurant serves quality and authentic Chinese dishes such as imperial roll, wonton soup, rice in lotus leaf, sweet-sour pork, longxu prawn and sweet dumplings. If you’re into fish, their squid in the way of Shandong and duck Beijing style are a must try. Still got room for dessert? Fried bananas and tang yuan are their specialty. But the caramelized bananas are also very tempting!
