Do you like beer, books and crime conundrums? If you’re seeking an international thrill this summer then look no further than the Krimi Festival of German Crime Fiction, designed and organised by publishing house Emons.
A film festival with a difference, Krimi is specialising not just in gialli (crime thrillers) but exclusively German crime thrillers at that. Get yourself down to the suitable setting of the 1930s Cinema Nuovo Sacher from 23 to 25 June for a selection of readings, film projections and discussions between the top Italian and German crime fiction authors, critics and journalists. The tone of the festival will be set by its opening screening of Wim Wenders’ 1977 film The American Friend, a whole 40 years after its original release.
As for the full official programme, the suspense is building with clues being guarded closely by organisers. However, what you can be sure of is a whole host of quality Italian and German actors and writers and gripping plotlines that will have you on the edge of your seat.
Sip an ice-cold artisan beer and munch on delicious food served by Campagna Amica while you mull over the evidence and channel your inner Sherlock Holmes.
