A rooftop cocktail bar in the heart of the historic center
Rome has a specific taste: it is poetic, lively and grand. What could embody the true expression of La Dolce Vita style if not a rooftop cocktail bar that overlooks this enticing city? One of my favourites is the one at the Singer Palace Boutique Hotel.
Encircled by roman styled rooftops, domes and bell towers, the Singer Palace Hotel deck is a heaven with an unbelievable view. Thanks to its convenient location, two blocks away from Piazza Venezia and right on the famous Via del Corso, enjoying your time here is a must. Whether you choose to visit it for a refreshing stop, cocktail hour or after dinner drinks, the Singer staff will pamper you all the way through, offering only the highest level of service. It is suggested that you make reservations in advance.
Nevertheless, it is open to all! If you are planning to lounge on the rooftop for an after-dinner drink, the bar, which inside resembles a speakeasy, will treat you with a majestic view. The Jim’s bar (a catchy and easy name to remember) has an impressive list of spirits for you to choose from. The bar manager, Federica Geirola, is a well established star in the world of mixology. Her signature drink, the Yumi, combines marendry, a bitter that comes from cherries, Fabbri cherry syrup, lime, and AcquaFaba. Her intuition created the perfect cocktail to sip during summer on this unique rooftop. This drink earned her a triumph at the 2021 Lady Amarena Italia contest.
Under the section “From Jim’s with Love” on their menu you can find her signature drinks and more. And for all the gin lovers looking to try something new, a personal favorite is the Seven Hills gin, which is original to Rome.
The menu includes some finger food options and delicious dishes (as well as vegan, vegetarian, and more), hence spending time on the terrace is a well rounded experience. You can pick between classic cocktails and original concoctions, all served with a variety of savory snacks. If you find yourself wanting more of Singer’s exquisite cuisine, you can also reserve a table at Le Terrazze restaurant, for lunch or dinner, and enjoy it on the amazing mediterranean styled terrace one floor below.
Here the cocktail hour starts from noon, which means you can enjoy the sights and drinks throughout the day, too cool down after a long walk or to enjoy an aperitivo during the golden hour. When you are not feeling an early aperitivo, you can taste on of their creative fit drinks or try something from the selection of gourmet coffees (like the Gourmet Pistacchio Espresso).
With so many unique traits, the magical atmosphere, and careful attention to detail, it’s incredible to think that the hotel, terrace and stunning rooftop have only been open for about 5 years. Lucky for us, it did! It seems like many people agree with us, because Singer Palace Hotel has nearly 700 reviews on TripAdvisor marking it as excellent and claiming the rooftop as one of the best in Rome for drinks and aperitivo.
