Organised by the Fondazione Cinema per Roma, Cityfest offers an array of cultural events across the capital, from film premieres to educational projects.

The Beatles – Eight Days a Week (2016)

The Beatles at Cityfest

This docufilm by Ron Howard is a compilation of found footage featuring music, interviews, and stories of The Beatles’ 250 concerts from 1963 to 1966. For the first time, 30 minutes of the legendary performance of the Beatles in front of more than 55 000 people at Shea Stadium in 1965.

Mario Sesti, critics, journalist and Coordinator of the Selection Committee of the Rome Film Fest, and Luigi Luppola, director of The Official Beatles Fan Club Pepperland, will be the protagonists of an encounter before the projection.

Estate Romana at Cityfest

A documentary describing an unconventional Estate Romana whose protagonists are Salvatore, neapolitan, lazy, scenographer, his assistant Monica and Rossella, a famous actress.

Director Matteo Garrone with the screenwriter Simone Paragnani and the actress Patrizia Sacchi will meet the audience before the projection.

Jim Jarmusch’s new film chronicles the story of The Stooges, one of the greatest rock-n-roll bands of all time. GIMME DANGER presents the context of the Stooges emergence musically, culturally, politically, historically, and relates their adventures and misadventures while charting their inspirations and the reasons behind their initial commercial challenges, as well as their long-lasting legacy.

In a city of humanoid animals, a hustling theater impresario’s attempt to save his theater with a singing competition becomes grander than he anticipates even as its finalists’ find that their lives will never be the same.
