After meeting your private official guide in front of the main entrance of Vatican Museum, you can use your skip-the-queue ticket to gain priority access to the building. From there you can set out on a special tour of the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, Saint Peter's Basilica and the Necropolis, under the Basilica, where Saint Peter's Tomb is located.

The Vatican City’s famous museum contains one of the largest and most spectacular art displays in the world, including the ancient Roman and Greek statuary collection of the Renaissance popes, Belvedere courtyard, Muse’s rooms, Circular room with Hercules, Greek cross room with Constantine’s sarcophagus, the Gallery of Maps overlooking the Vatican Gardens, Raphael’s rooms and finally Michelangelo’s breathtaking Last Judgement in the Sistine Chapel. You will journey through the history and learn of the secret enveloping the Catholic Church, and hear the stories of rivalries of the Renaissance artists. Continuing on through the Basilica of St. Peter, you’ll marvel at the masterpieces of the Baroque genius Bernini (his Canopy is the largest bronze object in the world) and at the awe-inspiring Pietà, Michelangelo's masterpiece.

During the Vatican City private tour, you will walk below the Basilica, through dimly-lit tunnels towards. Your guides will indicate you the Vatican Grottoes, the resting place of many popes, and you will also individually have the chance to stop by the tomb of Pope John Paul II.

After time for lunch, you will continue your afternoon programme and around 3:0PM. You will meet with your staff to enter the Vatican City and explore the Necropolis underground tunnels and galleries called the Scavi. This 1.5-hour exclusive guided tour will take you down into the lowest levels of St. Peter's Basilica. This is not the “grotto” area that lies just beneath St. Peter's where the monuments, chapels, and tombs of past Popes and Italian dignitaries lie. The Scavi Tour goes down below the grotto to an area known as the “Necropolis”, an ancient pagan and Christian cemetery and burial ground from the 1st century.
