You’ll stop at locally loved places, including the largest food market in the city, an award-winning pizzeria, an artisanal gelateria, a gourmet food shop, a Sicilian café, and an authentic Roman restaurant.

After meeting your experienced, food-loving guide you’ll head off for an introduction to the local culinary scene. Begin with a Sicilian-style breakfast at Cannoleria Siciliana, where you’ll have freshly made cannoli accompanied by perfectly brewed coffee.

Next you’ll explore the largest food market in Rome. Marvel at the freshest of produce as well as the juicy buffalo mozzarella, eggplant parmesan, bruschetta, and more. Meet the people who bring their local products and produce to this neighborhood venue.

Get your taste buds ready for the number 1 pizza in Rome. You’ll meet the Michelangelo of pizza, Gabriel Bonci, and choose from an incredible and unpredictable 80 varieties of pizza made fresh daily.

Your tour continues to the legendary La Tradizione salumeria to taste the best cheeses and hams Italy has to offer, as well as 30-year-old balsamic vinegar, truffles, and DOCG wine.

Head to an award-winning restaurant to sample fresh Roman pasta, including carbonara, amatriciana, and cacio e pepe, accompanied with wine.

The program ends with an education in gelato at an artisanal gelateria. Learn how to identify genuine gelato, and choose from the more than 70 flavors on offer.

2 reviews for Rome 4-Hour Food and Market Tour with Tastings

  1. 5 out of 5

Our guide, Morgan, was excellent: enthousiastic, energetic, and knowledgeable. A quote to remember from Luca at Paciotti: “Without wine, there is no party. Water is for your barh and washing the car!”

  2. 5 out of 5

We are the best food and learned so much about the history of what we were eating! Raluca was a fantastic guide and we would absolutely do this again if we had the chance! Would definitely recommend doing this tour on one of your first days in Rome as it gives you a lot of insight where to go eat and what to look out for in the different regions of Italy.
