TOUR ITINERARY
No need to go through the hassle of reserving and collecting your ticket for the Papal Audience: it’ll already be there waiting for you when you meet your guide. While others are still collecting their tickets, you’ll be taking up a carefully chosen spot in St. Peter’s Square and settling in to wait for Pope Francis to arrive.
Your guide will prepare you for the Pope’s entrance by explaining the rich history and traditions behind the Papal Audience, and the Papacy itself. Even as the crowd builds in anticipation of the ceremony, your headset will still let you hear your guide loud and clear.
When his holiness Pope Francis himself arrives, circulating to greet the crowd, find that he passes right by your vantage point. The Pope will take the stage to give a special greeting to the assembled crowd, then he and his Cardinals will perform blessings in multiple languages, sing hymns and perform homilies. With the background provided by your guide, have an even richer appreciation of the ceremony.
Pope Francis has earned a reputation for interacting with his audience more than any previous pope, with crowds encouraged to pray and sing along. Papal Audiences today can be transformative events, and record numbers of people wish to attend. This is your chance to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience without the stress of navigating the booking process or the 100,000-strong crowd.
PLEASE NOTE
- The tour ends at the beginning of the audience, as the duration of the audiences can vary
- Please dress in appropriate clothing (covered knees, shoulders, and back)

Monica our tour guide provided us with a fascinating history of Rome, the Papacy, Vatican City and the recent Popes. She explained the process prior to entering and we had outstanding seats with close camera access as Pope Francis rode around amongst the crowd. We would absolutely recommend this tour to those who don’t want to fight the crowds and end up far away from the Pope.
