Bright Festival: Florence 2023 Edition

Get immersed in digital art and music at the beloved cultural event with interactive light shows!

Since 2019, the Bright Festival is bringing together digital art enthusiasts, industry leading companies, universities and artists from all over the world to display the development of modern technologies and promote digital creativity. This year’s edition is expected to take place between 28th and 30th of April at the creative space of Stazione Leopolda, with the educational segment events happening at The Social Hub in Florence. You don’t want to miss out on this!

About the festival

This cultural event focuses on educational and entertainment activities in Digital art, Lighting design and Music. It sets new trends in digital technologies and media, as well as enhances collaboration between artists and international audiences. Past editions of the festival took place in Italy and Germany, displaying over 200 digital art projects and hosting more than 12,000 attendees

Digital Art is a big concept under the umbrella of which fall many modern creative directions like artificial intelligence, 3D and motion design, AR & VR, architectural lighting design, electronic music production, etc. So if you are into it or just would like to experience a mind blowing sci-fi adventure, definitely check it out!

Art section

This year’s edition, includes 16 digital installations, including interactive experiences, holograms, light & sound art shows, virtual reality and metaverse simulations, as well as a newly developing crypto art. The entrance to the Stazione Leopolda will open in the afternoon on the first two days of the festival. It takes approximately 2 hours to go through all of the displays. 

Tickets are available to purchase online. Standard Admission fee is €16,00 and includes entry to the exhibition for visitors between 13-64. Reduced ticket price is €12,00 for children under 12 and elderly people, as well as people with disabilities. Children under the age of 4 can enter for free. Education section

This section of the festival will curate 19 workshops and masterclasses on various forms of interactive digital design, including video games, 3D printing, video mapping and modern animation. On average the duration of one masterclass is about 1.5 hours and ticket prices start at €29,00. There are some professional workshops with a duration up to 6 hours that require some initial knowledge in programming and digital design, as well as asking participants to bring their own laptops.

Music section

For this part of the festival, organizers prepared a Night Show after party on 29th of April at 10pm, combining music and visual arts. A line-up of popular DJs, including Adana Twins (Germany), Kid Simius (Spain), Weg (Italy) and Markyz (Serbia) will lead you into an immersive electronic music and light show experience by Alice Felloni. Tickets are available for €25,00 after April 15, and will cost €30,00 if you wish to purchase them on the day of the event. Truly unmissable, one of a kind, party!

Professional section

Last but not least, The Social Hub will host a conference for digital art professionals all over the world in collaboration with Panasonic. The conference participants will also get a chance to enjoy the guided tour of the digital exhibition and join the Night Show after engaging in various training and networking activities.
