Details

Your host, Emanuela, is a visual artist and ceramist who has been working with clay for years, drawing on a wider background in illustration, engraving and printmaking. Her studio in Monteverde is a genuine creative space where she designs and makes her own pieces, so you’ll be working surrounded by real tools, wheels and finished ceramics rather than in a classroom set-up.

During the workshop you’ll get your hands into the clay and learn a few simple techniques to shape an everyday object: a bowl, a cup or a small plate. The focus is on hand-building, which everyone practises throughout the session. The studio has a single ceramic wheel, so throwing is offered when time and availability allow, and can’t be guaranteed to every participant.
