An immersive journey into the Sistine Chapel
In collaboration with the scientific consulting of the Vatican Museums, Giudizio Universale tells the story of how Michelangelo’s masterpiece – the Sistine Chapel – began. It’s a show that combines theatrical performance, technology, music and special effects, conceived and directed by Marco Balich. An extraordinary journey that allows viewers to completely immerse themselves in the wonders of the Sistine Chapel and discover its history and secrets.
The artainment show is the first of its kind to experiment with an innovative format that merges philological narrative of the masterpiece’s origin to technological advanced instruments of live entertainment. The show’s goal is to become an important event for art enthusiasts and a must-see for all Italian and foreign visitors who come to Rome every year.
The one and only protagonist of this immersive journey is the Sistine Chapel. Visitors will be taken through the story of the origins of Michelangelo’s masterpiece, from Giulio II’s commission of frescoes of the vault to the realization of the Universal Judgment, through a reenactment of the Sistine Chapel as the place for the papal election. The journey ends with the Universal Judgement coming to live around the spectators.
During the show, expect an amazing soundtrack. Marco Balich collaborated with top-level artists including Sting to create the perfect musical experience as well.
