Calling all ‘dolce’ lovers, there is a tiramisu joint in town serving up both the conventional and the fantastically unique.
Tiramisu is a dessert enjoyed by many all over the world, but nowhere makes it quite like the Italians, and now nowhere makes it quite like ZUM. Named after tiramisu’s prime ingredients; zucchero (sugar), uovo (egg) and mascarpone, this café, specialises in everything tiramisu-related and is causing quite the buzz – and not solely due to it’s coffee!
Available to takeaway or to eat in at their stylishly designed bar overlooking an open kitchen you can indulge in a whole host of flavours which change seasonally. Options for various different diets are also available with lactose-free, gluten-free and light in both small and large sizes as well as a selection of tiramisu cookies and sticks. There is even a range of their own gelato to choose from for those hotter days.
At ZUM you can find quirky varieties including lemon, berries, pistachio, seasonally picked strawberry and rum for those in need of something a little stronger on their lunch break. For the more simple types the ‘ZUM’ tiramisu is an absolute must try. Using Gentilini biscuits in place of the conventional ‘lady fingers’ and adding an indulgent layer of hazelnut, it makes for a delicious alternative!
It should also be noted that the wonderful pastry chefs behind this enterprise are not only passionate about their tiramisu but also about our environment. They therefore use only recycled and bio-degradable materials when packaging their goods. We believe that’s so great that it justifies us eating at least two desserts, right?
