Unrivaled colossal music venue and cultural events centre, Auditorium Parco Della Musica boasts the perfect sound and is home to one of the most elite musical academies in the world.
Auditorium Parco Della Musica, a sleek modern multi-functional complex blends cutting-edge architecture and state of the art acoustics encompassing three enormous concert halls and a 3000-seat open-air arena. This is a truly spectacular venue evoking avant-garde New York cool. Situated in the north of Rome, the venue is also armed with several chic and lively bars, restaurants and shops. Designed by Renzo Piano the Auditorium is the centre for many spectacular live music concerts such as classical, abstract contemporary, art music, chamber and sacred music while hosting many cultural events in Rome such as the International Film Festival held here every November.
The Auditorium is also home to one of Italy’s finest orchestras, the world-class Orchestra of Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. The Academy is one of the oldest musical training institutions in the world, founded in the 16th century. The resulting orchestra has been conducted by such legendary composers as Mahler, Stravinsky and Strauss and performs over 250 concerts annually focusing on symphonic and chamber music.
The breathtaking concert hall of Santa Cecilia at the Auditorium (3,000 capacity), is a triumph of conceptual innovation, with broken ceiling pods backlit resembling an enormous turtle’s shell of 26 broad sections. Floating speakers create a sound at once powerful and intimate, bringing musicians together in a perfect balance of range, where you could hear an exhale on stage without being overwhelmed by the trilling wind section’s top notes. The stage is flanked behind by sets of seating arranged in cliffs on different levels called ‘vineyards’.
With such a perfectly crafted music venue at your fingertips in Rome, on the cusp of new contemporary and symphonic evolutions, Auditorium Parco Della Musica is the motherland venue of perfect sound and musical grace.
