Rome for students

Whether you are currently studying in Rome, you are going to be an exchange student there soon and you are looking for accommodation, or you are simply going to visit the city, there are some things that you should keep in mind. They all say that all roads lead to Rome and so, here you are or are soon going to get there. There are many things to do and see, but what your typical guidebook won’t tell you is where to find the best food deals and the best parties. Also, what better way to enjoy your stay in the city than by checking out these tips and tricks.

Cheap eats in Rome

No matter if you have spent the day getting lost in the streets of the city or going to class there, you will need to eat something. As a student, you do not actually want to spend too much money on food, but you do want to eat something that tastes good. This is why, here are a few recommendations that you should give out a try and taste the culinary delights of Italy.

You should check out Pasta Imperiale for authentic home made pasta ( the chef actually makes the pasta in front of you), for the price of only 8€-9€. You can also check out Pastasciutta, which is another pasta place, located near Saint Peter’s Square. Oh, and did I mention that here the pasta is only 6€.

Italy is also famous for its pizza, and to be honest, you can’t really leave Rome without having a slice. When you decide to stop for food, do check out Pinsere, which has a great deal of two pinses and two bottles of water for only 10€. Oh, and also give Pizzería Da Baffetto a go as it is considered to be one of the best in town.

If you are a student, then you definitely like to party. If you have not yet tried to party like the Romans do, then you should really check it out. Here are three places that are among the best party options.

  • Scholars is one of the bars that most international students frequently go out in and it also gives out various student discounts. As a tip, you should definitely check it out on Tuesday nights if you are a fan of karaoke.
  • GBar is a really small bar located in one of the coolest neighborhoods in Rome, Trastevere and it offers prices as small as its location. On Wednesdays and Thursdays you can find shots at only 1€ each.
  • Shari Vari is one of the well known clubs which is located in the center of Rome. Even though the drinks are on the pricier side, the overall atmosphere of the club is simply amazing.

Now that you know here to eat and where to party in Rome, an ancient city that never seems to sleep, you can open your guidebook and look at the main attraction points. Do keep in mind that most museums are free or have a great discount for students, so do not forget your student id card or your ISIC card. Also, check out for different vouchers, group deals or coupons as they might end up saving you a lot of money. Most of all, do not forget that what happens in Rome, stays in Rome. And whenever you happen to miss the city, do remember that somehow the road will always take you back to the city.
