Choose your pizza dough & topping, then pair it with cocktails, wine or beer
TreeToo is the latest addition to Ponte Milvio’s food and nightlife scene. Tucked away on a small side street of the famous piazza, TreeToo welcomes its guests for lunch, dinner and drinks in what used to be a carpentry. From the same family as the famous Tree Bar, TreeToo stays true to its origins with a warm Scandinavian style design and an outdoor area.
The setting is contemporary and the food and cocktails are under the spotlight. Pizza reigns at TreeToo, with classic and creative toppings and most importantly…different types of pizza doughs coming from organic farming. Apart from choosing from over 15 different types of pizzas, you can also choose from three different types of pizza doughs, all organically produced and some labeled TreeFarm, the farm of the Tree group.
The flour of the doughs is handcrafted in mills with old stone millstones to keep the nutritional characteristics of the cereals and seeds intact. Translation? Great quality and easily digestible! The first is the “base” option made with organic whole wheat flour – farina di frumento semintegrale, the second option is “nera” with a mix of organic soft wheat flour, organic rye flour, seed meal of organic flax and malt flour of toasted organic barley – farina di segale, and the last option is “hemp” with wheat flour, semi-integrated organic flour and organic whole hemp flour – farina di canapa.
The must-try pizza? The hemp flour amatriciana… mozzarella, amatriciana sauce with crispy guanciale and pecorino cheese shavings. Trust me, once you try it you’ll crave it forever.
But TreeToo isn’t famous just for its delicious pizzas. Start your meal with fried antipasti, from the delicious supplì to the perfectly crispy fiori di zucca and the yummy caciocavallo panato. The menu also includes six types of salads; beef, chicken and vegetarian burgers; and vegetable and chicken woks!
The cocktails? They’ll have any mixology enthusiast swept off their feet. From the Clementina Mule to the El Santo, you’re in for a great cocktail experience. But wine lovers aren’t forgotten about either at TreeToo. The wine list includes labels that span all over the Italian territory with some French references. And what kind of pizza place would it be with no beer? For all beer lovers, there are three craft beers from the Free Lions Brewery, a craft brewery in Tuscia: the Pils, Ipa and Blanche.
With its cozy atmosphere, soft lighting, music, surprising pizza and drink options, it’s fast becoming one of my go-to places for lunch, dinner or aperitivo in Rome.
